The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is part of the local government of East Rand in Gauteng, South Africa. Ekurhuleni is one of South Africa’s 8 metropolitan municipalities, and one of Gauteng’s 5 districts.

The Municipality are offering Skills and Development Programmes to their youth, in order to uplift the community and make a positive impact on the scarce skills shortage in South Africa.

Successful candidates must sign a 12 month contract and will receive a monthly stipend for their work.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Candidates interested in applying for this learnership position should ensure that they meet the following criteria – failure to meet ALL of these requirements will result in your application being denied.

  • South African citizen
  • Between 18 and 35 years old
  • Reside in the City of Ekurhuleni
  • Completed Matric OR equivalent
  • Passed Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy in Matric
  • Completed OR currently registered in one of the following programmes:
    • Event Safety Management
    • Disaster Management
    • Geographic Information System
    • Meteorological Studies
  • Good command of the English language (able to read, write and speak English)
  • Computer literate
  • Clear criminal record
  • Not currently employed
  • Have a driver’s license (beneficial but not essential)
